How we started

Chico Pet Vet and Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue were both founded by local entrepreneurs who wanted to create a lasting enterprise designed to provide community services and best-in-class medical services. Therefore the animal rescue was founded in 2015 and the hospital in 2021 as a way to partner in the housing and care for domestic animals.

Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue is a non-profit organization that has rescued and rehomed over 13,000 animals since August 2015. Our dedicated volunteers and staff have years of experience with animals and rescue, and our mission is to rescue, foster, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals. We rescue dogs at risk of euthanasia and those in danger of abuse or neglect, regardless of age, breed, or ease of placement.
